Scaler Academy, an upskilling EdTech startup has announced the acquisition of Applied Roots, an online learning platform. According to the rules laid down in the deal, six founders of Applied Roots along with their team will join the Scaler Academy to boost its growth.

Founded by Anshuman Singh and Abhimanyu Saxena, Scaler Academy provides high-quality technical education to professionals who wish to upskill themselves. The students here are taught by ace leaders and subject matter experts from various tech giants, including Google, Facebook, Intuit, Microsoft, Amazon, Hotstar, and Snapdeal.

Meanwhile, the Applied Roots was established in 2017 by six cofounders- Srikanth Varma Chekuri, Murali Krishna Varri, Naveen Reddy Bade, Brahma Reddy, Srinivas Reddy and Satish Atcha. It is a Hyderabad- based learning platform that offers diploma courses in artificial intelligence, machine learning, applied gate course, coding track and government test preparation, among others. Last year, Applied Roots collaborated with the University of Hyderabad to offer online diploma courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Over the past four years, the Applied Roots have served more than 40,000 learners.

Tailing about the acquisition, Srikanth Verma, co-founder of Applied Roots said “We established Applied Roots to alter higher education by offering exceptional quality and great mentorship. Our immediate goal is to support the efforts and projects being done in the Data Science and the ML team. We are also going to incorporate a separate Data Analyst Sub track within the Data Science program.
